Ed joined Derbyshire County Council as a Business Adviser in 2025. Over 16 years, Ed has started three separate businesses, enjoying both success and failure along the way. Building a team of over 40 people across different business units, he eventually sold his last business in 2020. Ed has learned much about business planning, growth, leadership and problem solving, winning the EADT Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010.

In helping other businesses, Ed constantly seeks to improve his skills and knowledge, supplementing his entrepreneurial experience with an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and a PhD at Nottingham University Business School in International entrepreneurship and Business model innovation.

He is passionate about helping small-to-medium enterprises and start-ups, by mentoring the entrepreneurs and leaders who need support and guidance to launch and grow their businesses successfully.
