High Street Fit Out Grants

Through Pride in Place, the Worksop Together Board has allocated capital grant funding to support new businesses to fit out premises on the high streets and within the town centre in Worksop from April 2026 until March 2027 in the form of a grant.  The Worksop Together Board want to reduce the amount of vacant properties within our town centres and diversify the shopping and eating out offer; this grant will give businesses and community organisations the opportunity to achieve those goals.

A maximum of £15,000 is available to successful applicants based on the length of lease or rental agreement.

Worksop Shop Frontage Grant

Through Pride in Place, the Worksop Together Board has allocated capital grant funding to support businesses to refurbish shop frontages the high streets and within the town centre in Worksop from April 2026 until March 2027 in the form of a grant. This scheme will provide grants for both existing and new businesses that have a viable business growth plan which will lead to the creation of new jobs, improve the visual aesthetics and increase the footfall within the town centres.

A grant of up to £10,000 is available to independent businesses; these include: sole traders, independent charities, a limited company which would like to replace, improve or carry out repairs to their shop front.

  • The shop front façade must be on the ground floor and have a street facing frontage.
  • The business should be located within the boundary area shown in map drawing above in Worksop.
  • Businesses that have no outstanding debts with the Local Authority.
  • If you are a leaseholder, you must have permission from the freeholder and provide supporting documentation.
  • Where applicable, planning permission or listed building consent must be obtained from the Local Authority.

High Street Business Support Grant

Through Pride in Place funding, Worksop Together Board has allocated funding to support businesses in Worksop Town Centre from April 2026 to March 2027.

A maximum of £3,000 grant is available to micro and small enterprises (employing up to 49 employees) operating independently within Worksop town centre/high street or based elsewhere within the Bassetlaw district. The business owner will have already engaged in support as part of the High Street Business Support programme.  A robust action plan will have identified a need to apply for a grant.

The grant can be used for:

  • Developing a website for your business or enhancing an existing one.
  • Adaption or introduction of e-commerce into the business i.e. allowing you to sell your products/services over the internet.
  • Adaption or introduction of an electronic payment system into your business i.e. contactless payments and click & collect.
  • Setting up or assistance to use existing social media platforms more effectively.
  • Developing a marketing plan and delivering associated activities.
  • Improving overall store experience i.e. visual aids to enhance your store environment.
  • Engaging consultancy support to implement the above.
  • A new piece of equipment to help diversify your business.
  • Basic upgrades to heating, lighting etc.
