Invest to Grow: Funding for Business Growth

The Invest to Grow programme provides loans and grants of between £15,000 and £250,000 to support private-sector businesses across the East Midlands to innovate, adapt, grow and create jobs. 

The programme is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), large enterprises, sole traders and partnerships located in the East Midlands and Staffordshire including the A38 corridor areas of Burton on Trent and Uttoxeter.

Applications can be made for between £50,000 and £250,000. Projects may be awarded a grant or a loan or a combination of both.  Each applicant is normally required to provide funding for a minimum of 80% of the total project costs.  

Funding is available for capital expenditure projects that will innovate, adapt, grow and create new jobs. Within individual projects the decision-making process will consider factors such as job creation, increase in turnover, improvements to profitability, productivity or sustainability/decarbonisation.

Invest to Grow does not support any companies which are business to consumer (B2C) focused, or in the professional services and retail sectors.

Invest to Grow may be used to support:

• Purchase of land and buildings
• Refurbishment of land and buildings
• Plant and machinery costs
• Equipment costs
• Product development costs

Invest to Grow does not support the purchase of vehicles, stock, staff costs or ongoing operating costs.
