A co-operative is a business that is democratically owned and controlled by its members to meet their shared needs. Members can be its customers, employees, residents or suppliers who have a say in how the co-op is run.
Co-operatives UK provide support to set-up and to grow a co‑operative through information, training, digital tools and up to four days of direct support.
You can access a step by step guide to starting a co‑op and register your co‑op on the Co-operatives UK website. You can also access webinars and apply for business support to get your new start-up off the ground. Additional services are available for trading co-operatives.
