22nd June 2026

Taking place at Notts County Football Club’s Meadow Lane stadium on Wednesday 8 July, “Meet the Contractor: Getting Warm Homes Plan Ready” will bring together contractors, local authorities, Tier 1 delivery partners, retrofit specialists, and key decision makers from across the East Midlands supply chain.
The event will feature a contractor exhibition designed to connect the full retrofit and energy efficiency sector in one room.
“Improving the energy efficiency of our homes is one of the biggest opportunities we have to tackle high energy bills, create skilled jobs, and make the East Midlands a greener region.
Our ambition to support the retrofit of 12,000 homes by 2035 will require a strong, capable local supply chain, and that means helping more SMEs and sole traders to enter, thrive, and grow within the retrofit sector.
I encourage local contractors and installers to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with key organisations, learn about upcoming projects, and play their part in delivering our regional retrofit ambitions.”
- Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands
The inaugural event is specifically targeted at SMEs and sole traders that can deliver retrofit measures, including heat pump, solar panel, and insulation installers, operating across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The event will create opportunities for local businesses to engage with the organisations preparing to deliver the Government’s Warm Homes Plan and retrofit projects throughout the region.
Industry leaders attending will include:
The event forms part of wider regional efforts to support the East Midlands Local Retrofit Strategy, place-based roadmap developed through the Local Area Retrofit Accelerator (LARA) Pilot convened by the MCS Foundation.
The strategy aims to accelerate home retrofit activity across the East Midlands Combined County Authority area, helping to reduce fuel poverty, improve housing quality, stimulate local economic growth, and cut carbon emissions from heating and powering homes. EMCCA has an ambitious target retrofit 12,000 homes with energy efficiency measures by 2035.
“With the Warm Homes Plan now moving forward, the need for meaningful collaboration across the sector has never been greater. Delivering on these ambitions will require strong alignment between policy, local authorities, contractors and the skills system.
This event brings together key partners, including local contractors, Tier 1 organisations, local authorities and training providers, all in the same room, creating a valuable space for shared understanding and practical coordination. It marks the first in a series of essential engagements designed to strengthen partnerships, build capacity, and ensure the sector is ready to meet the scale and pace of delivery required."
- Gary Braybrooke, Founder & Chief Executive at the Energy Efficiency Association
The event runs from 10:00am to 5:30pm and entry is free, however attendance is strictly RSVP only.

The event represents more than a networking opportunity, describing it as the point where the East Midlands Warm Homes delivery network comes together to shape the future of retrofit delivery in the region.
