Pride in Place Funding

Pride in Place FundingFunding opportunities are now open for applications through the Pride in Place Programme (PiPP) for Newark.

These include:

  • PiPP Community Grant Scheme
  • Capital Projects 
  • Events Funding Programme

PiPP Community Grant Scheme

The community grant scheme will strengthen the capacity of local community and voluntary organisations within Newark and help bring local people together. This is expected to be the first of four rounds of annual community grant funding. This includes:

  • A mix of capital and revenue grants between £20,000 £100,000 are available for community organisations in Newark.
  • A minimum of 10% match funding is required and all funding, in this funding round, must be spent by 31 March 2027.
  • Projects within the Pride in Place Programme (PiPP) area for Newark.

Capital Projects

The Call for Capital Projects has been launched to identify projects over £250,000 that will deliver transformational change within the Newark PiPP boundary.

Projects must align to one or more of the Newark Town Board’s priority PiPP interventions:

  • Physical improvements to town centres, neighbourhoods, and high streets such as public realm improvements, community spaces and the creation of new retail premises.
  • Creating and improving green spaces, community gardens, watercourses or embankments in the area, along with incorporating natural features into wider public spaces.
  • Capital funding projects that build capacity of the community and voluntary sector and bring local people together.
  • Capital funding for support for arts, cultural, heritage and creative projects and facilities and historic institutions that make up the local cultural heritage offer.
  • Support for active travel enhancements/connectivity in the local area.
  • Design and oversight of the built and landscaped environment to design out crime.
  • Capital funding for skills provision tailored to local employment opportunities and skills gaps

Events Funding Programme

Local events organisers are invited to apply for PiPP funding to support the delivery of events in Newark Town Centre to help bring local people together and improve town centre vibrancy. Between £10,000 £100,000 is available to support a wider seasonal programme of events activity within the town between 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. A requirement for a minimum of 10% match funding is required.

Eligible applicants include:

  • Charities
  • Community interest companies
  • Education and training providers
  • Local authorities, parish and town councils
  • Limited companies
  • Community groups (constituted with robust governance arrangements)

Funding must be used for:

  • Artist, performer, and facilitator fees
  • Event production & technical costs
  • Equipment hire, staging & infrastructure
  • Marketing & promotion
  • Accessibility measures
  • Event management, security & stewarding
  • Insurance & licences
